Transfer Line Control Systems for Transfer Machines

Transfer Line Control Systems for Transfer Machines - Control systems ensure the sequential action of component, machining heads and mechanisms built into automatic tranfer lines.

The automation control system used includes:

(1) A system for controlling all the movements and sequence of operation of all the main and auxiliary units in the transfer line;

(2) An interlocking system ensuring trouble free operation of all the machining heads, mechanisms and cutting tools;

3) A system for adjustment of the machines and cutting tools;

(4) An inspection system for checking the dimensions of the workpieces being machined;

(5) A signalling system, facilitating transfer line servicing.

These automatic control systems employ electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic interlinkage devices.

The interlink age devices are in turn classified as External, Internal, Intermediate and Auxiliary interlinkages. External and auxiliary interlinkages are mainly electrical.

while intermediate ones are combinations of electromechanical, electrohydraulic, and electropneumatic devices. Internal interlinkages employ various mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic devices and their combinations.

External control interlinkages serve to coordinate operation of independent transfer line sections.Intermediate control interlinkages ensure the coordinated operation of separate machining heads and mechanisms with in each section of the transfer line.

Internal control interlinkages comprise control devices and circuits which provide sequential operation of mechanism in machine tools of the transfer line. Auxiliary control interlinkages coordinate operation of separate transfer line units with that of other control systems.

Centralized, decentralized and combined control systems are used in automatic transfer lines, depending on the component equipment, dimensions of the line, and its work cycle time.
