Continous Broaching Machines - Continuous broaching is a surface broaching operation. In a continuous broaching machine, a number of work pieces (and the work holders) mounted on a chain conveyor­ move continuously against stationary broach or broaches. The path of movement may be either straight or circular.

Continuous Broaching Machines

The workpieces to be machined are clamped in special fixtures or work holders and mounted on an endless chain. Workpieces are machined as they pass the broach supported by the back up plate) and are then automatically released from the work holders on to a slide or a conveyor. Chips are carried away by a chip conveyor.

This machine is designed to broach continuously the circular cylinder portions of workpieces. The broaches can he posi­tioned either in the central part or around the periphery of the rotating table.
