Maximum Production RateMaximum Production Rate - The unit time required to produce a workpiece, t p = t M +t c (t m/T) +t h where tm is the machining time t c is the tool changing time t h is handling time (idle time) T is tool life. The minimum unit time will result in maximum production rate as Q = Production rate = 1/t p The maximum production rate will correspond to the minimum production time per piece as obtained by differentiating Eq. (38.13) W.r.t. cutting speed after substituting time cutting speed relationship. :. Cutting speed for maximum production rate is given by Eg. (38.11) and Tool life for maximum production rate is given by Eq. (38.12) These optimum values are dependent on index, n, and tool changing time, t c. |
