Tool Life for Minimum Cost

Tool Life for Minimum Cost - The minimum cost cutting speed, V min is a function of the operating time costs, tool costs, and tool changing time, and is a function of the n and C parameters in Taylor's equation.

Since the constant C in Taylor's equation and in equation (38.9) are the same, and if V corresponds to V min then the tool life that corresponds to the cutting speed for minimum cost is:

T min = (1/n -1) (Co tc + C1/Co)
