Corrective Maintenance - When inspection shows that corrective action is necessary the machine tool should be withdrawn from production. As the object of this inspection is to take action before a failure occurs, such action should be taken as quickly as possible, as, however, the machine is still capable of producing satisfactory work, this action can be taken at a time to meet both the convenience of production and the maintenance department (there will, of course, be occasions when it is necessary to withdraw the machine immediately).
