Circular Saw MachinesCircular Saw Machines --Circular sawing machines or cold sawing machines are used exclusively for cut off operations. Such machines differ from a power saw or a band saw in respect of the blade or cutter: Circular' sawing machines employ a toothed circular disk cutter which resembles a slitting saw (cutter) used on milling machine or the cutting blade used on a woodworking table saw. The circular saw blades are fairly large in diameter (200 to 400 mm) and operate at low rotational speeds, The blade may have teeth either cut on its periphery or may have either individually inserted teeth or detachable segments that may contain several teeth. One obvious advantage of the segmented teeth saw is that the -disk can be made of a less expensive steel, and the teeth can be made up of high speed steel or tungsten carbide. -The cutting action of the circular saw is same as that obtained with a slitting cutter on a milling machine. However, pieces of much bigger diameter can be cut on the circular saw.
A-Saw -For cut off operation, the saw is fed into the work, which is positively clamped by mechanica.1 or hydraulic, horizontal or -vertical Vises, -Cutting speeds of circular blades are 10-25 m/min for ferrous metals, 60-1200 m/min for nonferrous metals, -A cutting fluid is recommended when cutting all metals except cast iron, -The work tolerances are +-1:0.4 to +-1.5 mm. -Surface finish is 6 to 25 µm.
