Horizontal Band Saw Machines - -A horizontal band saw machine resembles a power saw except for the endless band saw blade it has like that of a vertical band saw.
- Horizontal band saw was developed to combine the flexibility of reciprocating power hacksaws and the continuous cutting action of vertical band saws.
-Such a machine can be arranged to hold, clamp and cut several bars of materials simultaneously and because of the continuous cutting action, this machine is very efficient.
-Horizontal band saws have a manually or hydraulically operated swing frame which pivots the blade down onto the work, The cutting position of the blade is nearly horizontal and hence the name of the machine is horizontal band saw.
-The feed pre5sure on light duty machines is gravity-fed. Heavy duty machines have hydraulically fed mechanisms which lower the blade down on to the work.
-Work may be clamped in a manually operator or hydraulically operated vise
-Horizontal band saw may also have facilities for varying the blade speed, calibrated work stop, automatic bar feeding etc.
