Power HackSaw Blades

Power HackSaw Blades - The length of a power hacksaw blade is its end-to-end measurement. This depends on the size of the saw and may be from 300 to 900 mm long. The longer lengths are usually wider and thicker to give the needed strength.

-The width of the blade may vary from 25-50 mm.
-The thickness of the blade may vary from 1'25-3'0 mm.
-The pitch ranges from 1'8 to 10 mm.
-The tooth construction is either straight or of under cut type.
-The blade may have Raker set, Wave set or straight set.
-The blades are held in position against the aligning surfaces of the blade holder with socket head screws, and they 2fe tenslCl1ed by means of hardened bolts,

-Power hacksaw blades cut between 40 and 160 stroker per minute.

-A lubricant is recommended to lubricate the tool and to wash away the small chips accumulating between the teeth.. Since there is little heat generated in most sawing operation, the problem is one lubricating rather than cooling and the cutting fluid should be chosen accordingly.

-The following general rules apply to the selection of power hacksaw blades,

(i) Hard materials, small sections and thin walled section require fine teeth.
(ii) Soft and easily machined materials and large cross sections require coarse teeth for adequate chip clearance.
(iii) A minimum of two teeth should be kept in contact with the workpiece at all times.
