Tooth Form of Saw BladesTooth Form of Saw Blades --The teeth usually are of the straight-tooth form Fig (a). The under cut face form is used only on coarse-pitch blades (larger blades). For efficient cutting of ordinary steel and cast iron, a pitch as coarse as possible should be used to provide ample chip space between teeth. However, two or more teeth should always be in contact with the stock being cut.
