Hydraulic Shaper Drive MechanismHydraulic Shaper Drive Mechanism - The mechanism of a hydraulic shaper.
Mechanism of a Hydraulic Shaper
A hydraulic shaper has the same major parts as the mechanical one. However, the ram is driven by a hydraulic cylinder. The speeds of the shaper ram and the feeds of the work table are controlled by hydraulic mechanism. A lever operates a valve that varies the quantity of oil delivered to the rain cylinder and thereby governs the ram speed.
The amount of cross or vertical feed of the table is regulated by a handwheel which affects the table feed cylinder. The return or idle stroke is faster than the cutting stroke because of the smaller area in the return side of the cylinder (due to the presence of piston rod) if a constant volume pump is used. |
