Holding Work on the Slotter Table
Workpieces that are to be machined to the bottom side should be mounted 0.11 parallel strips to give clearance for the cutting tool. Insufficient table clearance can break the cutting tool and result in damage to slotter. In slotter, the ram has a vertical stroke. The cutting stroke of tool, thus, exerts a side pressure on the workpiece. This can be counteracted by proper placement of stops to prevent any possibility of the movement of the work. Circular workpieces should be centered with respect to the center of the table.
