Test Charts - The test charts describe first the geometrical tests and then the performance tests. Each test is further explained by a sketch in which the method of measurement is also indicated. In the next column of the charts the values of the permissible errors are specified. In test chart, usually seven columns an drawn to incorporate the following items :

1. Serial No.

2. Test item

3. Sketch

4. Measuring instruments used

5. Permissible error (mm)

6. Actual error (mm)

7. Instructions for testing.

Test charts are meant for both, new machine tools as well as the reconditioned ones. The test chart is prepared to provide a convenient basis for the preparation of proforma for preparing test certificates.
