Bed - Both, the main spindle axis (S) and the tailstock axis (T) must be coinciding as well as should be parallel to the bed.For this test, a mandrel (preferably hollow) is held between centres.

Testing Parallelism of Line of Centres with Bed
A dial gauge is mounted on the carriage. The mandrel remains stationary while the dial gauge is moved along by traversing the carriage and the error noted down. Any error should be a rise, not exceeding 0.04 mm per metre, at the tail stock end.
